Cryotherapy
Combines the therapeutic benefits of controlled cold compression to minimise hemarthrosis, swelling and reduce pain. After a knock, bang, tear, minor or major surgery, cryotherapy is the ideal rehabilitation tool. Cuffs are anatomically designed to completely fit a specific body part providing maximum coverage of whole joints and allowing the entire surface area to have the continual cooling benefit of cryotherapy.

What Is Cryotherapy & Why Use a Cryo Cuff?
What is Cryotherapy?
Cryotherapy, also called cold therapy, uses cold to lower tissue temperature. This tightens blood vessels slowing metabolism. As a result, it helps reduce swelling, inflammation, and pain.

Key Product Features & Benefits:
Targeted Cold Therapy
Cryotherapy delivers controlled cold therapy directly to injured areas, reducing inflammation and swelling more effectively than loose ice packs. A cryo cuff maintains consistent cooling around the joint for better recovery.
Natural Pain Relief
Using ice machine therapy slows nerve conduction, providing natural pain relief without medication. This controlled cooling helps manage discomfort after injuries, strain or surgery.
Knee Recovery Support
A knee cryo cuff fits the entire joint, delivering even cooling and gentle compression. This helps reduce post-operative swelling and stiffness, supporting knee rehabilitation.
Home Treatment Convenience
Cold therapy systems let you use ice machine therapy at home. This helps patients keep up with cold therapy without going to the clinic.
Long-Lasting Cooling
A cryo cuff stays cold longer than regular ice packs. This helps reduce inflammation all day with fewer reapplications.
Safe Repeat Use
Cryo cuffs provide safe and comfortable cryotherapy sessions. They are great for managing flare-ups, post-training soreness, and joint issues during recovery.

When To Use Cryotherapy

After an Injury
Cryotherapy is ideal immediately after sprains, strains or impacts. Using a cryo cuff delivers targeted cold therapy that helps slow blood flow, reduce swelling and ease pain in the first 24-72 hours. A knee cryo cuff or other joint specific-cuff provides consistent, comfortable cooling that works far better than loose ice packs.

Post-Surgery Recovery
Cold therapy is widely used after knee, shoulder and ankle surgery to control swelling and pain. Ice machine and cry cuff systems combine cold and compression for effective recovery support. This type of ice machine therapy improves comfort, help maintain mobility and is commonly used after knee or other joint procedures.

After Intense Activity
Athletes use cryotherapy after heavy training or competition to reduce muscle soreness and calm inflammation. A cryo cuff provides long-lasting cooling that helps limit DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) and speeds recovery. Adding ice machine therapy after intense sessions supports joint comfort.
- How long should I use a cryo cuff for?
Most people use a cryo cuff for 15-30 minutes at a time, allowing the skin to warm naturally between sessions. This cycle can be repeated several times a day due to most cryo cuffs being able to provide 6-8 hours of cryotherapy. Repeating this cycle depends on pain, swelling and medical advice.
Cold therapy works best in intervals rather than long, continuous applications.

Powered vs Gravity Cryo/Cuff
Powered
A powered cryo cuff actively circulates cold water using a built-in pump and provides intermittent compression. This creates more consistent cooling and helps reduce swelling more effectively by moving fluid away from the injured area. Powered units offer a more clinical level of support, making them better for post-surgery recovery or more serious injuries.
Gravity
A gravity crto cuff uses simple gravity-fed cooling to deliver cold therapy and light compression. You fill the cooler with ice and water, raise it above the injured area, and the cold water flows into the cuff. It's easy to use, doesn't require power, and ideal for basic swelling and pain relief.
How to use a Cryo Cuff (powered + gravity)
Steps:
1. Prepare the Cooler - fill with water & ice
Attach the blue hose, fill to the water line, add ice, place the insulation disc, secure the lid, and let chill for 5 minutes.
2. Apply the Empty Cuff - fit the cuff onto the injured area
Make sure the cuff is empty, then strap it on accordingly to the body part (knee, shoulder, ankle etc.)
3. (Gravity) Fill the Cuff - use gravity to fill with cold water
Connect the hose, raise the cooler 12-15 inches for about 45 seconds, then set the cooler level with the cuff
3. (Powered) Start the System - turn on for cooling + compression
Connect the hose and plug in the power supply
5. Adjust & Empty After Use - stay safe and reset properly
Keep the cooler level with the cuff, lower it if pressure feels too strong if using gravity type. For powered type, unplug the unit. Lower the cooler to empty the cuff after each session
