Firstaid4sport’s Michael Davison at Goldman Sachs presentation evening in London

We were delighted when Firstaid4sports director Michael Davison was accepted on to, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, an initiative set up to help entrepreneurs create jobs and economic opportunity by providing greater access to education, capital and business support services. 10,000 Small Businesses is funded by Goldman Sachs and the Goldman Sachs Foundation. The programme has reached business from across the UK and has resulted in immediate and sustained business growth for the alumni of the programme. Michael describes running a business as a lonely endeavour at times, you can often end up with such an insular view of what is going on that you lose sight of what you are doing right, you may be making mistakes but nobody is pointing them out. We all want to get from A to B as efficiently as possible, but this is difficult if you are having to learn on the job and use trial and error techniques. By taking part in Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses you were able to sit in a room with a group of people going through an almost identical experience, swapping stories and sharing struggles, all whist receiving invaluable advice on how to grow our respective businesses. How will this help you? I hear you ask. Since completing the Goldman Sachs 10,000 small businesses course, Firstaid4sport’s company ethos has developed. We have always put our customers at the heart of everything we do, as we grow we want our customers to grow with us. All of our business decisions are made to try and provide the most benefit to our customers. We want everyone, to be able to access good quality first aid equipment for a fair price, meaning that our customers can carry on doing the sport they love safely. We have excellent product knowledge, meaning that we can give one-to-one advice to our customers (we understand that the most expensive solution is not always the best). We are proud of our ability to ensure that customers are well informed and we strive to follow that same level of service right through from initial contact, to delivery of the item and ensuring ongoing satisfaction afterwards.
