Firstaid4sport & Darlington Mowden Park host fundraising match for JDRF UK

Firstaid4sport were proud to be part of such a successful day raising money for the JDRF as Darlington Mowden park hosted Plymouth Albion RFC in what was a fantastic game of rugby. On the pitch Mowden Park walked away with the maximum points after a fine team performance inspired by debutant Morgan Passman who scored four tries in the 49-22 win for Mowden. Off the pitch it was an extremely successful afternoon as well. The match was chosen to raise funds for the JDRF to help us on our mission to buy 200 Rufus Bear’s for newly diagnosed children.

This mission all started when Firstaid4sport owners Gemma and Michael Davison’s son Max was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes earlier this year in February. Since then Firstaid4sport have gone on to raise over £2,000 for the JDRF through the sales of our very own MAX Tape, with 10% of each roll sold is given to the JDRF. “Following our son Max’s TD1 diagnosis in February of this year we set out to raise awareness of Juvenile Diabetes. Max decided he wanted to help raise money for Rufus Bears to help other children on diagnosis. “We do this by donating 10% of each roll of MAX Tape we sell straight to the JDRF so far, we have raised over £2000 which is enough for 80 Rufus Bears,” said Gemma and Michael. The collection buckets around the stadium and the raffle hosted after the game helped raise £372.28 for the JDRF and this means that eight more newly diagnosed children will be able to get their very own Rufus Bear. We would like to thank everyone from both Darlington Mowden Park and Plymouth Albion RFC for helping this cause, and additionally thank you to everyone who donated. We hope our raffle winners enjoy their prizes.
