Cricket Clubmark – What First Aid Equipment do you need?

ECB Clubmark is an accreditation scheme for cricket clubs and is licensed from Sport England as part of their wider Clubmark scheme. ECB Clubmark shows that a club is well run and provides the right environment for its members. Clubmark accreditation also means your club is recognised as a safe, rewarding and fulfilling place for participants of all ages, as well as assuring parents and carers that they are choosing the right option for their children. One criteria of becoming Clubmark Certified through the England Cricket Board, is that all clubs must have a designated first aid kit. This kit must be made available to all junior sections at a cricket club, however, it is recommended that a kit is also made available to senior teams. The ECB do not outline any specific content that must be contained within this kit, they simply recommend following the guidelines laid out by St John’s Ambulance and Red Cross. This is why we put together our range of Cricket first aid kits, they contain all of the recommended items that every first aid kit should have, plus a few little extras that are more specific to the demands of cricket, these include; One question that seems to be quite unclear is that matter of away teams? Are they the home teams responsibility as guests of the club? The short answer is no. Cricket clubs cannot control away teams. Clubs must ensure that adequate First Aid provision is available for the home cricket club / teams. Away teams are not classed as guests, and it is therefore the responsibility of that team to bring with them their own kit and supplies (obviously we are not suggesting that you deny and injured player a plaster) but when playing away it definitely pays to have a first aid kit available to you in an easy to grab bag on pitch side.
