School Incident Grab Kits

The latest official Department for Education (DfE) guidance, ‘Protective security and preparedness for education settings’ issued in April 2024 recommends that education settings “should consider compiling a grab kit comprising of key items” to “minimise the number of different items that staff need to grab in an incident”. These should be compiled in advance and left in convenient and accessible locations. Kits should include equipment that may be required during an emergency such as “communications equipment, useful information, and Public Access Trauma first aid kits.” The guidance also recommends it is good practice to have clear roles and responsibilities for protective security and preparedness, including Security and Incident Leads. It is important to ensure these staff can be easily identified during an incident. We have developed a new range of products to expressly help schools meet this new guidance.
