What is the Extrication Collar?

The Universal Extrication Collar provides essential support suitable for adults and children who have suffered a suspected neck or head injury. The collar is re-usable, simple to administer, and cost-effective. It can be adjusted on the patient ensuring the best possible fit, for comfort and safety. Also allows X-rays to be taken whilst the collar is still on the patient. This product should be used only after training has been administered for the application and the management of suspected spinal or neck injuries.

How does the Cervical Collar Work?

The adjustable collar is a rigid cervical-spine immobilisation device to assist with neutral alignment, prevention of lateral sway, and anterior-posterior flexion and extension of the cervical spine. This collar provides the most accurate fitting with adjustability for up to 16 different sizes. The Adjustable Collar is a curved shape to fit the chin and allows intubation and removal of anything from the casualty's mouth. The Adjustable Collar is CT and MRI compatible and folds completely flat for easy storage and transportation. Also available is the Emergency Backboard for log rolling a patient onto for transportation into an ambulance (only to be conducted by suitably trained personnel) always have a handful of Foil Blankets to hand with any emergency equipment. We suggest a minimum of 2 - one for under the patient as the ground is often wet and cold which can draw body heat away very quickly, and one for over them to retain their body heat.
